EU Court for Human Rights in favour of 15 Roma children
p { margin-bottom: 0.21cm; }

March 16th 2010, The European Court of Human Rights ruled in favor of fourteen Roma children from Međimurje (case Oršuš et al v. Croatia) and ordered the Croatian government to pay each of the plaintiffs 4,000 euros in damages and court costs, since, by separating the plaintiffs into separate Roma classes, they were discriminated against and their minority rights were violated.

To mark the occasion, on March 17th 2010, part of the Roma who have sued the Republic of Croatia, their legal representatives, and representatives of the European Roma Rights Centre in Budapest, held a press conference at the Center for Human Rights premises. Present at the conference were: Gordan Oršuš (one of the students of the dispute), a lawyer Lovorka Kusan, and representatives of the European Roma Rights Centre in Budapest Lidia Gall.
