| 2nd periodic report on Croatia to UN HR Committee |
| Human Rights Committee considered the United Nations on 14 and 15 October 2009th in Geneva, the second periodic report on the status of civil and political rights in Croatia. Board members posed additional questions to the Government delegation, which consisted of experts from ministries and government offices. Among the problems that have excelled in matters of the committee members are: issues related to the process of dealing with the past, the rights of national minorities, the return of refugees and displaced persons, protection from discrimination, the state of the judiciary, the state of media freedom and attacks on journalists as well as problems related to achieving gender equality in practice. At the session of the Committee in addition to government representatives participated and the Centre for Human Rights, and a review of government reports have given civil society organizations Documenta, Civic Committee for Human Rights, Centre for Peace, Nonviolence and Human Rights Center for Peace Studies, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and MDAC |
