The delegation of the Human Rights Center went to the official visit to the Croatian President's Office. A delegation composed of the Jagoda Novak, Maja Hasanbašić, Aron Pecnik and Ivana Faletar met with President Josipovića and discussed current work areas of the Centre such as: the inclusion of education for democratic citizenship in the educational system, improving the system of free legal assistance, combating discrimination, minority rights, rights of persons with disabilities, dealing with the past and work in the area of the rights to a healthy environment. Also, there was discussion on plans of joining the Center with Ombudsman office which would ensure long-term independent role of the Centre in it's missions of promoting and protecting human rights, while simultaneously it will strengthen the Office of the Ombudsman, in further dimension of the protection and promotion of human rights. President of the Republic expreeded his gradutude to the representatives of the Centre for their contribution in protecting human rights in Croatia, and expressed strong support for the efforts and work of the Centre in the future. http://www.predsjednik.hr/22032013 |
